Summer is here! Time for fun in the sun and water sports! Here’s a list of the top five summer toys for boys according to major online toy stores:

1. Nerf Super Soaker Scatter Blast - Quite possibly the most epic Nerf water gun ever! This water gun packs a punch. One pump per five jets of water up to twenty feet. You can’t beat that!

2. Huffy Green Machine - This is the updated version of the original Big Wheel style “Green Machine.” It’s made to handle the height, weight and wear and tear of big boys (and girls, up to the latter 30′s have even been caught on it), yet the seat is easily adjusted so that the average 5-year-old can reach its pedals. The main cool feature is the dual lever steering. Just like with the original hollow model plastic version, pulling on the steering levers in opposite directions sends the machine into a wicked spin-out that kids just can’t get enough of.

3. Lazertag System 2PK - My 12-year-old son and his friends loved playing lazertag at our local lazertag / arcade center for his birthday. His friends and him all have this model and they play 3 on 3 battles outdoors in the backyard for hours. This system is awesome! Very accurate! And much healthier than sitting inside all summer long playing video games.

4. Blast Zone Great White Water Slide - We’ve used this slide for one season so far. It is totally cool that two kids can slide at once. My kids would race each other down the slide for hours last year. The size of it is impressive. It is simple to set up. It blows up easy and super fast! It hoses off easily when dirt or grass gets on it. It also packs up nicely into the carrying bag that it comes with.

5. Lifetime Youth Portable Basketball System - We were having hard time finding a sturdy basketball hoop and stand that can easily be played by 4 to 10 year old kids. This one has just the right height settings. Construction quality is super solid. We enjoy this set at every sunny occasion.
